A new study has revealed that two thirds of parents in the US are looking to their children's school to help them reinforce the importance of oral hygiene, whether through healthy 'family' recipes or education.
The survey was conducted online by Harris Interactive on behalf of Oral Health America and discovered that parents would like a helping hand to spread the message of better dental health.
Beth Truett, president and CEO of campaign group, Oral Health America, explained that both parents and schools have a vested interest in working in partnership with dental care providers to teach good habits that will last a lifetime - and keep teeth and mouths healthy.
"Older children need to know why they should keep their mouths clean and the effects of poor oral health on appearance and employability. Schools can help by integrating mouth health into health and science classes at all grade levels," she added...................
